Oops I accidentally hit go on my phone! I was saying that I see kids almost get hit while crossing in the crosswalk by someone speeding at least twice a week. This whole drop off/pick up situation is ridiculous! And the mp that shows up once a month isn't very much of a help!
With inclement weather approaching I worry about taking my infant daugher out and waiting outside for my kindergartner each day. There has to be some better arrangements than the current.
please find a safer parking solution for the sake of our nation's hero's and their families! our servicemen and women cannot focus on their job properly if they are worried about their kids and spouse getting hit by a car going into and out of school. In a combat situation, this worry could result in serious tragedy. There has to be a solution, please find it soon before someone gets hurt or killed crossing that busy street!!!
Yes we need something I hate waiting in the rain then walk back to my car and going to my car the other cars speed down the street. I think we need the drop off back where we drop off at the gym to many kids r getting sick and then the school is going to say that they r missing to much school
I completely agree!! I have to drag my one year old in the rain, sleet, and snow to get my other 4 boys! He is constantly getting sick because of this. I waiting in the rain with my one year old and 3 year old, waiting for my 2 other boys. We were soaked and freezing!
Where were you all 3 years when we were fighting this? No parents made any effort to come to meetings or voice opinions. As usual the JB MDL community re-inventing the wheel. For those of you who weren't around let me school you and update you on what had happened. The school, its administrators have NO say in what happens on base property. There in lays the problem. Once the school was handed over by base to the township the township is only responsible for the inside of the building. When base chose to take our buses away because of "lack of budge" that created an issue with overflow of traffic. So then base threatened to close the only housing gate we have. There were many meetings with command, deputy commanders, safety etc and we got no where but signs. We begged DOD who graciously took it upon themselves to show up and help with traffic flow. The President of the FDFA was told if she stood in the street directing traffic she could be arrested. We were provided with training manuals for volunteers to do crossing guard but no one wanted to cover liability insurance to protect you from being sued should a tragedy happen. Base had left us with no choices and the more we pushed the more we got told they have the option to close the school down. Because whether you want to believe it or not the school is a courtesy not a requirement. School administrators have been lied to, parking has been blamed on them. The turn around you all talk about, well when we did that we had parents making uturns in lot, causing accidents, parents leaving kids off to run in front and behind cars, cars overloaded down Juliustown to where no one in housing could get past unless you did it illegally. None of you have any idea what has happened, you are all coming on in this school year thinking you have the solution to it all. I am all for getting it resolved but the more you push, as unfair as it is may seem the more they will push back. We are all responsible for our child

I don't think an additional parking lot is necessary. They need a traffic flow plan IN the bus drop off zone. That area can be shared with the bus and can be effective and safe. I'll be at the meeting.
