This petition seeks to gauge support for the formation of a North Carolina Geo-Institute Chapter. The primary purpose of the NC GI Chapter will be to organize GeoCarolinas, a recurring technical conference that will provide high-quality geotechnical continuing education opportunities to the geoprofessionals working in the Carolinas. The NC GI Chapter will also provide programming assistance in support of the NC ASCE Section efforts in hosting multi-disciplinary conferences. If you are a member of the NC ASCE Section and support this concept, please sign this petition.

Updates

February 27, 2017

The feedback from colleagues across the state confirms that we are all craving a more focused space for geotechnical collaboration. I am currently working behind the scenes to align our goals with the broader interests of the ASCE section so we can move forward with a clear mandate.

February 27, 2017

Reaching this level of interest confirms that the geotechnical community in North Carolina is truly ready to elevate our local professional standards. I am energized by the groundswell of support for creating a dedicated space for our specialized work.
