ALISO CREEK TRAIL, ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA

For over four decades, the County of Orange, CA, has envisioned a "Forest-to-Sea" pedestrian and bicycle trail along Aliso Creek, a total of 19 miles.

The final segment of this trail is now being planned as part of the "Ben Brown's
Golf Course and Aliso Creek Lodge", now known as "The Ranch", in Laguna Beach, CA. This will finally connect the existing trail to the ocean at Aliso Beach, in Laguna Beach, CA, and the dream will become a reality.

The developers are proposing that the trail be routed up the mountain on the north side of the golf course, and would likely include switch-backs due to the steep terrain. This route would be very difficult for young children and seniors, and would be impossible for most families except for skilled hikers and mountain bikers.

We, the undersigned, ask that the County consider the needs and abilities of ALLTRAIL USERS by finding a trail solution along the canyon bottom. Other golf courses in Orange County have successfully integrated public trails by use of safety fencing and planting buffers. Please make this long-awaited trail available to all of us !
