Foreign drivers to sit New Zealand Drivers Licence test

I totally agree with getting tourists to complete some sort of actual physical driving test before being let loose on NZ's roads.

I agree that drivers with foreign driver's license MUST take driving lessons in NZ before they drive alone. I am a Chinese

Safety is the highest priority. Those foreign drivers with bad habbits are killers on the road.

Have to support this one. Have seen many dangerous driving behaviors.

Any one want to drive in NZ, must obtain NZ driving license, that is the only way to protect all road users and NZ tourist industry, we have seen enough tragedy and blood, time to stop it.

Totally agree with this petition. Every one should take the responsibility when they driving, it is about one life!!!!

I'm holding both China and New Zealand driver's license to be responsible to everyone on the road, including myself.

Ban oversea driver to drive around

I am strongly in favour of this petition. I am an international student in New Zealand. When I decided to drive here, I was very willing to sit the NZ driving test rather than use a translated driver license of my native country although I would spend a couple of years getting a full NZ driver license. Because I reckon that if I as a driver from an other country have a sound grasp of and abide by the NZ traffic regulations, it would be beneficial to the safety of myself and other road users when I am driving here. Therefore, I hope that the authorises should change the legislation to give a test these international license holders and in addition inflict more severe punishment on reckless driving.

we have to sit full tests in other countries why not when they come here.

Definately must happen asap .. too many fatal tragedies are affecting too many people.

All tourists should have to do a test as our roads simply are not up to international standards
