I fully support this...a lot of international licenses are bought and paid for without ever having to have any actual driving experience...this summer we saw a lot of terrible driving in central otago/canterbury...most of which involved tourist rental vans...

All tourists should have to sit there license over here, as all road rules are different. And these people cause more accidents then the residents! Dangerous people.

I would prefer visitors from right-hand driving countries to use buses. End of!

Foreign drivers used to travelling on the righthand side of the road are a great danger to the rest of us. Please make it law that they are required to sit a full New Zealand driver's licence test before they are allowed on our roads. Otherwise encourage them to catch buses.

This has been talked about for far too long. In the meantime there have been more and more fatalities involving foreign drivers on our roads. It's time to fix this - NOW!

I agree. I also must point out that foreigners who come to NZ for LESS than 3 months need to do some sort of practical test. Its insane how people can just drive. I just returned from a trip around the globe. The thought of getting in a vehicle and driving overseas horrified me. NO country is like NZ.

They are getting a free licence in the our country and us kiwis earn it!

We need the safe roads!!
Everyone who drive in NZ should pass the drive test even they just come to NZ for ONE day！Not only "longer than 3 months"!!

they should also have to have a plate like the learners plats to show they are on a foreign licence

Anyone outside a Commonwealth country and those who drive on the right hand side should have to complete a competency test before being allowed to drive

Not only people from overseas but old people once they hit retirement age should have to et their eyes and licence checked. Also people who say their licences 30/40 years ago and had to simply drive around the block as I've been told multiple time by my parents.
