I also hope that one day, South East Asian identities become represented in the Asian Studies, along with Women's Studies programs as well.

Alisha, this is a GREAT point and one that we've discussed at length. we want the Women's studies program to include as many perspectives as possible, recognizing that Asians and Asian Americans cannot be lumped into one group of individuals

While i realize this petition cannot encompass too much in scope, I would just like to add that a general awareness that there are other feminisms than the "American" one would be appreciated, not just in terms of intersectionality and race, but also because some of us have grown up on a different continent that was not America and therefore have grown up with a different brand of feminism (and different types of oppressions and privileges). But this particular issue, erasure of Asian and Asian American feminism, is a great place to start.

" we feel this is a campus-wide problem following a national trend of Asian erasure". So on point.
