BACKGROUND OF ISSUE

Many alumni in the US, The Philippines , and all over the world, want to donate to the SSCAAI but hesitate to do so for the following reasons:

Lack of operational transparency to its paying members Negligent or possibly criminal impropriety regarding administration of alumni funds Blatant disregard for established by-laws of incorporation as required by the SEC Election anomalies, nepotism, and disenfranchising alumni

The college is being deprived of the contributions of alumni whose motivation of pride and participation is being stifled by some self-serving members of the Board of Trustees thus compromising the integrity and future of the alumni membership.

We are asking you to temporarily stop funding SSCAAI derived from fees collected from graduating students until an investigation can be conducted and completed by an independent 3rd party auditor. We're recommending that funds be temporarily placed in an escrow fund supervised by the college. There is already a formal communication with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to investigate and a SEC legal representative has already been assigned to the case. In addition:

A legal team on behalf of disenfranchised alumni is being formed to meet with the SEC.  Local and regional journalistic sources are being mobilized to aid in investigating SSCAAI in the event the issue needs to be escalated. A petition to the Philippine Department of Education is in process in the event that the funding of SSCAAI continues.  A petition addressed to SSC-R's Industry Partners ( Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor), Astoria Hotel, Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines etc) is being developed.

Last year you were quoted in the Inquirer asking "What type of graduates are we producing? When they come to the workforce, do they become part of this rotten system, or do they become conscientious workers contributing to the reshaping, changing of this culture and image of corruption?"

We are appealing now to your sense of integrity and vision for a better university inclusive of its alumni association which should represent and model the best of SSC-R's values. We are appealing for you to take action and address this issue.
