Encourage Salt Spring farmers at the Saturday Market

I believe the market is so popular because of its local ethos - "make it, bake it, grow it" is essential for that. Let's support our local businesses and farmers above all.

"Make it, bake it, grow it" is the vital heart of the SSI market - don't allow that to be diluted.

Most of us farmers are done selling our produce by 1 or 2 o'clock and veggies start wilting in the summer heat. We could or would clear out sooner if placement allowed for it. That way the market opens up for more food and craft vendors in the p.m.

i totally support the farmers !
i question why the Saturday Market continues to try to cram itself
into Centennial Park.
I would like to see it extended to include the Peace Park and the Meadow of the United Church

As a member of the Salt Spring Community, I think it is important to acknowledge the unique circumstances that farmers face in bringing fresh products to market. Knowing that there is a reliable outlet for selling items that are time-sensitive is key to keeping farming alive and well in this community. Invest in food sustainability by signing this petition.
