The effects of the war did not end just because of the signing of the Armistice. Soldiers were still dying, either in the field of war where the news hadn't reached, or in field hospitals, or in mental institutions and certainly in society. Disfigured soldiers did not get fully treated right away. We need to examine the aftermath to truly understand how the people at home adjusted to the changes imposed upon them.

Please keep it going, at least up until the 1920s. Life was very difficult after the war for many people and promises, like Homes for Heroes, proved empty. I think we need at least to know how the characters settle into peacetime and cope with a world that is changing rapidly, with the aristocracy losing its power and a new, brasher social order emerging. I have got very fond of this series and, although a devoted Archers fan, I now rather prefer life in Folkestone etc. to life in Ambridge.

I think this has been too good to end and could run on quite successfully for several years to see the aftermath of the war

There was so much interesting social change at the end of world war 1 it would be fascinating to see its affect on 'our' characters

Please let this series go on at least until after the war is over and we can see the impact of the returning soldiers etc. Such an informative and well dramatised production.
