Hello there. My name is Ethan Wilson, and I live in northeastern Ohio. As a massive fan of the 2012 comedic movie about collegiate a cappella music, Pitch Perfect, I was blown away by a lot of the musical performances in the film, particularly with the all-female group serving as the focal point - the Barden Bellas. I just loved how all ten of these women from different backgrounds were able to come together to create some infectious music and choreography. And this isn't just their characters - the actresses involved all put in long days and nights in order to make their routines work on-screen. Some were familiar and singing and dancing while others weren't. But all of them ended up becoming a well-oiled machine where each part is just as important as the next - if one part isn't heard correctly, the entire group dynamic changes. During the press junket for "Pitch Perfect", the actresses repeatedly said that they were amazed how well all the ladies got along with each other with not one "bad apple" in the bunch - I get a sense that this is pretty rare in today's Hollywood culture.

By the way, full disclosure: this is the only film I have seen multiple times in the theaters - and by "multiple", I mean 17 times. Why, you may ask? A lot of factors: the script from Kay Cannon, the cast, the direction by Jason Moore... In the end, though, as I am a huge music nerd, a significant chuck of it is because of the inventive vocal arrangements throughout the film. And, of course, the performances of the heroines of the movie.

So, in recognition of the growing cult fan base this movie has, along with the recent release of this movie on BluRay and DVD and a nomination for a 2013 People's Choice Award for Favorite Comedic Movie, I am making a proposal for any Hollywood producer, event coordinator, awards show organizer (AMPAS, are you listening?), etc. Since the release of the movie in September 2012, I'm not aware of any public appearance that the Bellas have made together where they were singing and/or dancing. Hopefully, that may change.

I've started this online petition to have all ten actresses who played the main group of Bellas in "Pitch Perfect" to reunite for a public appearance - possibly on the People's Choice Awards, maybe even at the Oscars, or at some other public event (probably involving its distributor, Universal Pictures) - even one that would involve a charity or a non-profit organization, such as Love Is Louder, which was co-created by a Bella, Brittany Snow. This doesn't necessarily have to be a big-scale production. This could also mean creating a brand-new medley (or, in contemporary terms, mash-up) for an exclusive one-time-only deal. Even if the ladies just sing a re-creation of one of their routines in the film, that would likely make a lot of fans of the movie happy.

Whether Pitch Perfect will spark a sort-of renaissance or rediscovering of the U.S. college a cappella music scene over the years remains to be seen, much like what Bring It On did for cheerleading and Stick It possibly did for women's gymnastics. However, there is no doubt that Pitch Perfect helped to establish college a cappella as an environment that deserves to have its place in a wider spotlight. For me, ten good reasons for making this happen are the young actresses who make up the dynamic, high-energy, and downright-beautiful-in-their-own-right Barden Bellas: Anna Camp as Aubrey, Ester Dean as Cynthia Rose, Kelley Alice Jakle as Jessica, Anna Kendrick as Beca, Alexis Knapp as Stacie, Hana Mae Lee as Lilly, Shelley Regner as Ashley, Brittany Snow as Chloe, Wanetah Walmsley as Denise, and Rebel Wilson as Fat Amy (yes, that IS her character name for those unaware). I think they deserve another occasion to showcase their talents, especially when they come together to become something that is truly greater than the individual efforts of each person. They are a team. They are the Bellas. And if you'd like to see them perform again, please sing this petition so that others in Hollywood, America, and even the world who may not have seen the movie before get the chance to appreciate the gifts these women have.

It doesn't matter if you're male or female, young or old, race, color, whatever... if you're a fan of "Pitch Perfect", I ask for your support. Thanks for reading.

EDIT (12/22/12): In light of the news that Rebel Wilson has just been tapped to host the 2013 MTV Movie Awards in mid-April 2013, that occasion may be a great target date for this to happen.
