The college administration officially committed to installing campus water stations and launching a new meal plan for residents. Your pressure forced this change and ensured that no student on this campus will go without basic food access again. Keep watching the new implementation plan to ensure they fulfill these promises …
The current food options on the Barton Campus of Greenville Technical College does not meet the nutritional needs of the students, faculty, and staff. We have an on-campus residential facility that also does not have access to any food source, outside of the Monday – Thursday lunch vendors. At the very least an on-campus meal plan for our residents must be offered. GTC has very low-income students that struggle to get food - some go hungry all day long. Evengetting food off campus is an issue as there is absolutely no safe way for anyone to walk to get decent food. Another issue is no access to cool, sanitary water without having to buy it. Access to nutritious food and sanitary water is an absolute must for Greenville Technical College and is needed by the students, faculty, and staff.
I am currently gathering documented accounts from students who are going hungry to present to the administration. Please email your local representative today to demand they prioritize basic food access on the Barton Campus. Keep the pressure up by posting this link on your Facebook page.

Reaching this milestone proves that the administration cannot ignore our hunger any longer. Call the campus facilities office today to demand immediate access to sanitary water stations. Post this link on your Facebook page to ensure the dean sees our frustration.

Barton campus is a food desert. its dangerous to walk anywhere else and the vending machines are always empty anyway.

paying tuition is expensive enough. we shouldnt have to pay extra just to get a drink of water or a basic meal on campus. fix this.
