We request for a designated RC(Remote Controlled) fly zone on UTA campus. There are a lot of potential and already licensed RC pilots on campus as well as RC aircraft makers on campus which need a secure space to test and fly their quadcopters, not only quads but also other experimental fixed wings and UAVs. This place will not only ensure for a haven for these pilots but also be a ground for the development of more organizations on campus.

The FAA recently had a meet on campus in Nedderman 105 on March 11th 2017, Under the guidelines of FAA, the Maverick Stadium (1307 W Mitchell St, Arlington, TX 76013 Located in: College Hills Park) definitely checks out as the best safe haven for RC planes with least amount of public disruption or the possibilities of hurting anyone.

We do not plan to make the Stadium a RC zone completely but rather want to have the ability to book timings through a week where we RC enthusiasts can meet and test our creations.

Here are the Basic FAA rules:

Fly at or below 400 feet

Keep your UAS within sight

Never fly near other aircraft, especially near airports

Never fly over groups of people

Never fly over [occupied/active] stadiums or sports events

Never fly near emergency response efforts such as fires

Never fly under the influence

Be aware of airspace requirements

In addition to this we plan to make Drone Enthusiast Society which will guiding student and future pilot various registration and licensing procedures:

A U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident*

Visiting foreign nationals must register their UAS upon arrival in the United States (online registration serves as a certificate of ownership).

To register, you'll need:

Email address

Credit or Debit card (5 $ for 3 years)

Physical address and mailing address (if different from physical address)
