Please no more increase for TECO. They never get enough and enough is already enough!

My electric bill went from a maximum of $160 monthly in the summer months a couple years ago when my parents had 7 kids at home. It is now $400 monthly and I'm the only kid at home and we haven't used anything any differently than we did back then. We even bought all new energy efficient appliances since then. We don't do laundry unless we absolutely have to. We unplug all of our small appliances like the coffee pot, toaster and microwave until we use them and then unplug them again. We shut off the breakers to our stove, washer and dryer when they're not in use. We don't even cook every day, well make meals that have left overs that last for several days that we can heat up in the microwave. We only do laundry when we absolutely have to, usually when I need clothes for school. We've replaced our hot water heater to a tankless one. We shut our A/C window units off of we're not in that room. We're on a fixed income because my mom is on Disability. My step dad got hurt at work several years ago and can barely walk and we've been fighting for his Disability ever since. I'm still in school and I have many severe medical issues so I can't get a job yet. My mom said my main focus should ONLY have to be my EDUCATION. These electric bills are absolutely ridiculous and are making her have to choose between getting food and medication for our family or paying the electric bill. WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO CHOOSE. They're are many times that they have gone without their medications just so that they can provide me with my medications and food. They do without. This is totally unfathomable to me. Our electric bill is almost as much as our rent, no matter how much we lower the thermostats the bill keeps going up instead of going down like it should. My parents struggle is killing me seeing them like this.

Shame on you TECO. Voters will be deciding in 2024 and there will be consequences for the DEpt of Energy in our state.

The rate increase during a time when most Americans are facing financial hardships is despicable. TECO should at least do what they can to minimize the cost when the net profits are so high. Consumers will be voting in 2024 and if something is not done well before then, there will be some seat changes in our state.

Ridiculous. We weren’t even in the house for five months and our electricity bill was over $200 a month. We kept our air conditioning on 82 and everything else in the house was shut off.

Lower our TECO bills, as it is absolutely unfair, unjust with the amount of money teco Makes each year. Maybe it’s time to get this Canadian company out of America

The largest share of increase in my TECO bill has been ADDITIONAL FEES. The cost per 1,000 KWh has increased too.

There is no reason to raise rates like teco is doing. It's hard enough to pay the high rental rates plus groceries. Electric being raised every time you turn around just makes things harder!

I am writing this petition to express my deep concern regarding the recent power rate increase. As a customer and a member of the community, I strongly believe that such an increase would have a detrimental impact on the livelihoods of many individuals and families in our area.

This is getting to be too much. It is very hard when you are on limited income.

TECO needs to be audited. They have been operating as criminals for far too long.

These electric bills are absolutely ridiculous!!! My parents can't even afford to go to McDonald's for a lunch once a month anymore on their fixed income. They're on Social Security Disability and most times they chose between groceries or their medications!!! They shouldn't have to do that!!! They worked all of their lives until they got hurt. My Mom got hurt at home 10 years ago falling down the stairs at home and she could no longer work. She only gets 1/3 of what she was making before she got hurt and couldn't work anymore. My Dad got hurt on the job about 4 1/2 years ago and can't work anymore. We've had to get an attorney and are still fighting to get his Disability Appealed. It's been a year that he's been waiting for that to get an answer. He made 3 times what my Mom made. They have lost almost everything they've owned due to trying to pay their bills trying to stay afloat. They lost their credit cards and their credit scores that they worked so hard for. They were being ready to buy their forever home when my Dad got hurt. Now, that will NEVER EVER happen because they've lost EVERYTHING that they worked so hard for all these years. I've tried to help them as much as I can, but it's STILL NOT ENOUGH!!!!

I am on a fixed income, SSD and cannot afford these rate increases. We have lived in the same house for almost 10 years and replaced all of our appliances to energy efficient ones 2 years ago. We very rarely do laundry or cook anymore because we can't afford to. We do maybe 2 loads of laundry a week and do it in the middle of the night. When we cook, we make enough for several days so that we can just reheat it in the microwave. There are only 3 of us now. When we moved in here, we still had 3 kids full time and 4 more every other weekend, and more cooking and more laundry. Since then, my electric bill has doubled, almost tripled and I'm using less kWh than I've ever used in previous years. I still have 1 kid at home and it's either pay the electric bill or buy groceries and pay for our medications. It's not fair to those of us who have worked all of our lives and now we can't even afford to go out to dinner once a month. We can't even afford to buy our children or grandchildren birthday presents. It's not fair to us, not to our children and grandchildren.

These price increases are outrageous and the electric companies are still showing all time highs for profits so we must stop this madness!!!
