The purpose is to petition the State of Florida to allow the manufacture and sale of Ice Cream made with alcohol as a flavoring ingredient , so long as it contains less than 5% by volume and is only sold to adults over the age of 21. Currently the laws of the State of Florida consider Ice Cream that contains over one half of one percent alcohol to be adulterated, and are therefor regulated as "alcohol".
The current laws do not allow for new and exciting culinary trends using wine, craft beer and other alcohol "flavorings". Any Ice cream produced in this manor are subject to Florida's 3 tier system, which will allow manufacturing under strict rules designed for the Alcohol industry and distribution must be done by an alcohol distributor. These laws are egregious and ignore culinary trends and stifle new and exciting businesses in the state.

This state is so behind the times. Let us have some rum raisin that actually has rum in it. It is just ice cream for god sake.
