Flood & Sewer Damage to home and surroundings

We are asking for your support to help get our street and sewer fixed and answers immediately. Our neighbors have suffered for the fourth time a terrible flood and sewer back up into their home.
They have family of 6 with four children under four.
To the Hazlet Township Committee, Public Works Department, and all relevant municipal authorities:
We, the undersigned residents and concerned members of the Hazlet community, urgently call upon the Township of Hazlet to take immediate and long term action to address the repeated and devastating flooding occurring at the Mandola residence located at 17 Glen Avenue.
This is not an isolated issue. For the third time, the Mandola family has suffered extensive flood damage to the first floor of their home after a relatively short period of rainfall. Each incident has required complete rebuilding efforts, costing thousands of dollars in renovations, repairs, and personal losses. Most recently, they lost the majority of their children’s toys and belongings in their playroom. Their home is now an unsafe environment for their four children, all under the age of four.
This young family cannot continue to live with the constant anxiety of flooding every time it rains. No family should have to fear for their children’s safety or endure the emotional and financial toll of repeatedly rebuilding their home. They love their neighbors and community, but no one should be forced to choose between their family’s well being and the town they call home. Nor could this property ever be reasonably sold, as no other young family should be subjected to such ongoing distress and heartache.
Though friends and neighbors rally to help after each flood, this is no longer sustainable or acceptable. The town must be held accountable for the infrastructure failures, water runoff issues, and drainage deficiencies that have caused repeated and preventable flooding of this property.
We respectfully request that the Township of Hazlet
• Conduct an immediate assessment of the drainage systems, street grading, and water flow surrounding Glen Avenue
• Implement long term solutions that will permanently divert or absorb stormwater away from 17 Glen Avenue and surrounding properties
• Provide immediate support or assistance to the Mandola family during this current crisis
Enough is enough. We urge the Township to act now, not after another flood, not after another loss, not after another family’s sense of home is destroyed.
Sincerely,
The Undersigned Residents and Supporters
