The Bayer cooperation has begun adding aspartame into Flintstones vitamins. I found this out on a recent trip to the grocer. This is the second time I found aspartame in their vitamins (first was the one with choline). Their site (currently as of July 19, 2010 2:51 PM EST) only lists Flintstones complete and plus calcium having aspartame. The Bayer corporation claims with the FDA findings that aspartame is harmless. I, however, like thousands of others, suffer from a degree of allergic reaction caused by phenylalanine, an amino acid found in aspartame. I am not the only one I know personally with this reaction. My grandmother, mother, and I all have severe headaches. My significant other suffers seizures. My close friend suffers muscle cramps. My closest confidant can die from the slightest exposure - all of us are allergic to this "safe" artificial sweetener, and our children will be too. It's genetic. My suggestion and concern is for the Bayer corporation to remove aspartame from their vitamin products. Many people do not realize they have an aspartame allergy until they're made aware one can suffer various degrees of discomfort from aspartame. Other, safer, sweeteners such a xylitol exist and should be implemented in Flintstones vitamins. Please, Bayer corporation, remove aspartame from your products to ensure the safety, health, and growth of children and adults like myself who are allergic to your "safe" sweetener.
