As mentioned in the meeting a few weeks ago this path is intended to increase access to green spaces and motorless transportation, however in the process of building this path many trees will be removed from what is directly behind my backyard and would increase noise off the expressway. Also for a motorless path be beneficial to the neighborhood closest too it wouldn’t it make sense to have side walks in that neighborhood? There is also multiple safety concerns I have including the increase in crime already in our neighborhood-who will be responsible for the safety of the path and surrounding areas? Additionally the cost of maintaining the path once it is built is another concern. Our Ridgewood family strongly opposes this bike path.

Would like the funds to be used for street lights in Ridgewood.

Please do not move forward with this plan. A bike path along flag creek is not what this community needs. Roads need fixing and lights are needed.

I don’t want added access to our neighborhood. We are already having theft concerns without adding another escape route. Please spend the money on deteriorating infrastructure. Water, roads, etc.

Safety of residents should be the primary concern of any development in our community -- and this bike path goes against that. Please do not move forward with plans for the bike path.

My family is totally against a bike path, seems pointless. My car has already been broken into we don't need to give crooks access to more of the neighborhood. And please no sidewalks.

I live in Ridgewood and feel that the bike path is not the best use of funds for our community.

No. Please, no. In the town meeting, there was talk this path was going to help commuters get into town. False, Ridgewood neighbors would still have to bike to the entrances. Waste of time. Use the money for pot holes, side walks, our polic officers.

Sean Smith. Debbie Smith And our 2 sons age 21 Live at 5704 Ridgewood Drive all sign this petition for NO bike path This was discussed in this village years ago and whoever was present then most likely don’t live here. We lived near the prairie path in Glen Ellyn for 13 years. Crimes were a common theme from robbery to assault and sexual assault. We do not want this path in our back yard.

Please come and take a walk on this space ear marked for the proposed bike path... you will see how the privacy and safety of the citizens living on this pathway would be greatly jeopardized. This is a very foolish and inconsiderate proposed plan, brought up by a few trustee members that would harm the landscape and the citizens living along this corridor.

We need complete sidewalks and improved street lights in the Forest Hills neighborhood to make our community safer, not a bike path.

Please, please terminate the discussion around bike path construction. While this grant may indeed be for this sole purpose and not useable for other projects, the proposed path adds greatly to the very real dangers of crime and access to our neighborhood. Additionally, it will not be able to be properly patrolled by police. I do not have to [but will... since this aggravating subject has 9 lives] mention the uptick in car break ins, home break ins, as well as an armed felony that occurred just 24 months ago. Please assure me the Village has not forgotten. We have not. Throw this bike path idea out for good, please.

I’d like to see a grant for sidewalks and more staff on the police force.
