The University of California is in crisis. California has crippled the system with continuous divestment, and has put students in the position to foot the bill. The UC’s funding model is fundamentally flawed, and the UC Student Investment Proposal forgoes quick fixes for a comprehensive long-term solution that works to the benefit of students and the UC. It will ensure future growth of the university while allowing students freedom from ever-rising and burdensome tuition costs.
Please take the necessary steps to pursue a new, permanent funding system, like the one outlined in the UC Student Investment Proposal. We need new and inventive ideas if we are going to fix the University of California.

I have been reading through the comments all morning and honestly the stories about tuition hikes are just gutting but they keep me going because it shows we actually care about this. I am buried in emails trying to coordinate a meeting with someone from the regents office so please hang in there while I chase them down for an answer.

PLEASE STOP RAISING THE COSTS. STUDENTS ARE GOING BROKE TRYING TO PAY FOR A DEGREE.
hope this actually changes something. tired of being treated like a cash cow for the administration.
finally some common sense about how this place is funded.
my student loans are already out of control. tuition keeps going up every year its impossible to even keep up
working two jobs just to afford books and tuition is keeping me from my classes. something has to change.
I attended UCLA.
