Due to the recent changes to www.tumblr.com and limitations put on it's features, it's users have felt a growing sense of voice on the issue. In the past, the Admin's and/or figureheads of tumblr.com have chosen to fruitlessly ignore their user's cry for reasonable change. This petition is a rally, a head turner, and a voice for all of tumblr.

By signing this petition, you state that you want the following. The character limit removed from asks, the sending limit removed on asks, the dashboard changed/fixed/modified, Missing E to be considered a permanent feature to Tumblr if the dash cannot be modified, or any other changes felt that need to be made. In addition, this petition states that all users desire the website layout to be left as it is unless a serious and unfixable matter arises. In which case the staff of tumblr.com relies heavily on user-input and guidance for a user-friendly site.

David Karp, figurehead of tumblr.com, has willingly and openly stated he would rather it's users use other forms of communications in order to speak with one another. He would rather run an iron clad website, which benefits his pockets and is a complex, difficult site to exist on then hear the voice of his users. Instead of fixing the issue, David Karp has thus swept it under the rug and kept with his ideal's in order to retain complete dominance of tumblr.com. This is the user's stand for change. David Karp needs to listen to his fanbase. Tumblr staff, needs to listen to their fanbase. In order for tumblr.com to not completely collapse on itself and severel decline in popularity, user input MUST BE CONSIDERED. This petition ensures that if no changes occurs, at least we will be heard.

Updates

August 17, 2011

The feedback provided in the comments confirms that the current state of the platform is causing significant frustration for the user base. I am currently organizing these specific grievances into a formal document to present to the company leadership.

The momentum behind this initiative continues to grow at an incredible pace. It is encouraging to see such collective dedication toward restoring the functionality of our platform.

bring back the old dash. the new one is honestly so ugly and makes it hard to see my posts. fix it already.

the fact that they limit asks now is so annoying. why take away the one thing that made this site fun?
