Bring Off-Campus Lunch to Cathedral High School
Off-campus lunch is a very valuable attribute to any school. Not only does it provide the young men of Cathedral High School with the ability to socialize, but it promotes solidarity among students, encouraging students of different class levels to share a meal together: helping to form a stronger bond at Cathedral High School. Helping grow the brotherhood at La Cate is not only part of the school; it is the school, and off-campus lunches will help the essential aspect of brotherhood thrive. Secondly, with off-campus lunches being brought to Cathedral, we implement a more affordable option to students. Students at Cathedral have been looking for alternatives to expensive, unhealthy, and small portions for years, and a solution has arrived. Students can purchase a "Hot n' Ready" pizza at Little Caesar's for 5$ which comes with 8 slices of pepperoni pizza. Meanwhile, students are paying $6 at school lunches for three slices of pizza (if there is enough, that is) and a soda. This is a hurdle that needs to be dealt with. Let's be fair to our students and give them affordable choices. These choices are not only also affordable, but off-campus lunch can give them opportunities to eat at more healthy restaurants. This year students were faced with the issue of not receiving lunch multiple times. On several occasions, students did not get to eat lunch until after lunch had ended. One time, a student had to drive to the store and pick up pizzas for students. This is a dilemma that needs to be put to rest. Unhealthy, expensive, and students not eating needs to be put to rest, solving a problem of students arriving late to class. And lastly, Cathedrals growing men need to be given responsibilities and freedom. Independence helps cultivate the morals of children, and this is a fine opportunity to let students be independent and be given the freedom they deserve. Students receive high marks on grades and grand achievements, yet don't receive proper accolades in the cafeteria for their merits. Off-campus lunches are in the best interest for the school, for the parents, and for the young men of Cathedral High School.
