We, the undersigned, as property owners in the area most affected by the flooding of the Port Colborne/Fort Erie municipal drain, hereby demand that the Town of Fort Erie immediately honor its pledge to remedy the broken gate at the terminus of the drain on Pt. Abino Rd. at Abino Hills Rd. by whatever means and solutions necessary, including alternatives to the re-installation of the south side of the flap gate.

I have finalized a formal letter addressed to the Town of Fort Erie engineering department regarding the specific drainage failures at the gate. We are currently waiting for a confirmed time to present these signatures during the upcoming council session.

I've spent summers here since 1956. The ditches, culvert, drain backflo gates were all maintained. We have had high water before. The gates worked; no flooding. Local government has failed to protect residents in this area.
Restoration of all of our properties and surrounding conservation area is paramount A long term solution is desperately needed
The gate needs to be fixed. The overflowing ditch is a hazard for all of us.
Deterioration of the cloud gate shoukd have been anticipated by our Town. Not an excuse. Our Lakefront region is the biggest & growing asset to Ft Erie. Negative response to homeowners is a negative to future economic development. Just repair the gates that have worked for decades. Thank you
I aplomb the TOFE to fix the Abino Drain Gate immediately. Flooding has been a major problem for 2 years now and I strongly believe that having the gate working properly would help tremendously in alleviating the dire situation we're currently in. My family has witnessed many seasons of storms while living in the green house since 1950, without flooding, due to the maintenance of the overflow ditches, crank operated metal gate that opened and closed, and culvert maintenance. I am having extensive work done on my home now, including a sump pump installation, to rid the basement of standing water. Please keep this flow of communication to inform us of progress.

There is no need to reinvent the wheel. In the 70's during the high water years, there was a screw operated gate value which was kept shut and a pump that ran 24/7 to pump water from a vertical culvert over the gate. Please help us now!
