No banning phones

In this day in age technology is the most important property we have. Cell phones are the Mobil was for the students to learn. It is also how we communicate with our friends and peers. Though they may not be a strong suit in the class room, at our leisure time they may come in handy. Thank you!

I’m not mad about no going on my phone to take pictures or whatever. I need to contact people and it’s 10x easier when I can just text them . There has be multiple times when one of my parents has tried to contact me during the school day and I did not receive that message until after school .

I spoke with one of your classmates as to how you can form a stronger argument. Just talk to her, or dm me on Instagram @ShadePaetrix with any questions

Like what if people have a Change of plans in their schedule during the school day and need to contact parents of vice versa. Say someone gets hurts or the Paraent won’t be able to pick them up. There are many dangers to this. The schools response is to just call the office but that is so much more impractical than being called at lunch. Go ahead ban it during class, but banning it at lunch is over excessive.

It’s ok during class, but why can’t we use them during lunch?

I mean I understand not being able to use it during class, but not during lunch is absolutely completely absurd.

The phone ban is to harsh. It was only a few people who got in trouble with phones, let them be punished and not make the rest of the school suffer. And I understand no phones while a teacher is teaching but at lunch, recess, EEE, or any other free time we should be given the option to have our phones.

Yeah the devices we get barely work , chrome books are horrible and the iPads load slow due to horrible WiFi

If the technology the school provides doesn’t work, that is an argument that can get you somewhere.

The problem with technology should be your main issue to bring up. That is a serious problem, and should be addressed. Not allowing phones in class has nothing to do with it. They are trying to keep you off of social media, and if you’re being honest, is that such a problem? Everything stated in the handbook is 100% legal, as they don’t keep you from taking your phone back at the end of the day. Bring up real logistical issues with the policy, not just that you don’t like the policy.

Ok. So legally, if you violate a school policy banning cell phones they are within their rights to confiscate it for the day. I do agree that the school should have the right to confiscate if you are using it in class; however a ban during lunch is a bit extreme.
