Good afternoon,
My name is Paola, and I’m writing as a concerned pedestrian and resident of St. Cloud.
For over a month and a half, I’ve been reporting the issue of non-functioning pedestrian crosswalk signals at the intersection of Neptune Road and Old Canoe Creek. Although I was told the matter would be addressed, no action has been taken, and the signals remain out of service.
I cross this intersection daily and have personally witnessed elderly individuals and young children struggling to cross safely. The lack of working signals creates a serious and ongoing hazard, and I’m genuinely worried that someone could get hurt if this continues to be ignored.
I’ve contacted the St. Cloud Police Department, who referred me to the County, and the County then advised that the issue falls under the construction company responsible for the repairs near the intersection. Yet despite this back-and-forth, the problem remains unresolved.
At this point, I’m reaching out in hopes of raising awareness and encouraging immediate action. I’m simply asking for a safe crossing environment—before something tragic happens.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Sincerely,
It has been claimed on numerous occasions and has been broken for more than a month. Since before we started schools. It is a danger to the safety of pedestrians, especially children
