My brother is having anxiety about this new policy and I would like to change it so that he may not have any worry traversing the halls to his 6th period destination and receiving a tardy pass.

This petition needs a better statement. Period 6 IS part of the instructional day; however, the rules the WHS administration have placed regarding the ability to leave early have prohibited the Yearbook staff to be efficient. I understand the few have been disruptive and disrespectful to the school, but that does not mean the ones who use period 6 in the proper way should be punished as well. Some students need to get help or take a quiz and then leave immediately after for work, sports, or other things. This is not practical for the average high school student. I stand with the WHS student body on intending to make a change, yet I also stand with the WHS staff on stopping bad behavior.

I'll have to take time off of work every time I want to go to sixth period, since I can't leave early after I finish everything. Not a fan.

6th period is a free period for students, they an make use of their time however they want to as long as they dont break the rules. Rule breakers should be punished, not everyone.
