Whereas intervisitation policy is discriminatory,

Whereas intervisitation discourages fellowship,

Whereas intervisitation is outdated and no longer useful,

Whereas sign-in systems are tedious and inconvenient,

Whereas students are denied their First Amendment rights of the United States Constitution,

Whereas intervisitation policy leads to problems within rooms,

Whereas intervisitation sanctions are harsher than warranted,

Whereas equal protection of the law does not exist in intervisitation policy,

Whereas residence assistants and directors are prejudicial in enforcing intervisitation policy,

Whereas intervisitation policy is not in accordance with Grove City College’s vision,

Whereas intervisitation policy arbitrarily restricts movement without cause,

Whereas intervisitation policy is not based in Grove City College’s statement of faith,

Whereas intervisitation policy is vague and largely undefined,

Whereas interpretations of intervisitation policy differs among those enforcing the policy,

Whereas intervisitation policy discourages family interaction with students,

We, the students of Grove City College, through the affixing of our signatures in this petition hereby humbly and respectfully request the administration of Grove City College to invite students to review with them the intervisitation policy in order to revise or replace the policy described herein. We express without reservation our discontentment with the college’s current policy and recognize its unjustness and its need to be changed. We resiliently present this petition as an expression of our First Amendment rights under the United States Constitution.
