Only 12% of the schools in the district meet state standards, and only 59% of the students that attend the failing schools meet or exceed state proficiency levels. There can be no argument that the status quo and associated programs are failing. Therefore we, the undersigned, demand a change of course as follows:

1. Identify the worst schools in the district and close them down

2. Identify the best performing schools and expand them

3. Repeat.

Beyond these first steps, we also encourage seeking funding to re-open the closed schools as charter schools to enrich the quality of education in our community. Following this course of action is not only good for our children, but also for the community. Help us once again make the Garden Grove Unified School District something to be proud of!
