As many of you have heard, there have been some serious concerns raised about Fridley and the health impact on its citizens. It has been discovered that ground contamination in the area has resulted in the presence of TCE and other chemicals in the Fridley water supply. Many believe that these chemicals have caused diseases, cancer and other health problems in Fridley residents. Understandably, many people are outraged by this recent news and have banned together in an attempt to fix this problem. In an effort to clean up the Fridley water supply, we are proposing that the City of Fridley IMMEDIATELY install a granular activated carbon filtration system, which would essentially eliminate these contaminants and hopefully ease the fears of residents. I am asking that you please join in signing this Petition. It will not only make our water better, but it will be a good first step in improving the overall health of the residents of Fridley. The next City Council meeting is scheduled on July 9, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. I hope to have enough signatures by then to present at that council meeting, which I will be attending. If I have not gotten enough signatures by then, I will attend the next council meeting and present this Petition then. Thank you all for the support and hard work that you have done so far. I know that together we can make some changes for the better!

The stories coming in about health impacts are unacceptable and prove we cannot wait for the city to act on their own. Email your city council representative right now and demand they authorize the installation of a carbon filtration system. We must keep this pressure high until they provide us with clean water.

July 3, 2012

The momentum is building and the city council cannot ignore this level of demand for clean water. Post the link on Facebook right now and text three friends to keep this surge going.

About time something was done. The city has known about the tce for way too long. Stop dragging your feet and get the filters installed!
