Our family moved to Evanston to be part of a diverse, equitable, family oriented community. This policy is not consistent with any of those values, nor with the well being of children.Please seek out more caring ways to handle emotionsl children!

Children should be able to trust teachers to create a safe space. Calling the police on children for being children is unacceptable.

This was, to put it mildly, the continuation of racist policies of Evanston School District because they've never seen black and white as equal. A six year boy in class should never have to look and see a uniformed officer with guns man handling him. This is unacceptable.

This is appalling. Staff should be trained to deescalate. Traumatizing children further is not ok. The district needs to fix this.

I expect District 65 to immediately halt this practice and reevaluate their policies. All it takes is just one level headed person in authority at a school to insure this does not occur. Evidently that was not the case. Good God.

I am a product of both D65 and D202. This is outrageous! It was horrible the first time it happened and it is appauling the second time. Evanston D65 and its residents, please make sure this is the last!

'Every child, every day, no matter what it takes' - including calling cops on kindergartners, apparently, though not on actual supports in the neediest schools. Ridiculous.
