Improve Arlington County Tennis Courts Now

Make all the courts as good as Virginia Highland Park, but face the benches towards the courts, please.

As a 30-year Arlington resident, life-long player and ACTA member, I appreciate good court upkeep. Resurfacing doesn't help badly cracked courts, so this effort seems be a waste of money. Tennis is a wonderful relatively inexpensive, life-time game,that could and should be promoted among young people.

I use the courts at Kenmore, they were surfaced last year and are now all seriously cracked cracked, suggesting the work was not done well.

I am a member of the Glebe Ladies Tennis Club, and many of us are seniors. The courts have become very dangerous with cracks. I have felt for a long time the resurfacing has not been done correctly, as they crack very quickly after the work.

I suppose the ACTA petition - please consider these requests

Poorly maintained courts limit both adults and youths participation in healthy outdoor recreation.

Arlington County needs to do better--most of our tennis courts are in poor shape, especially Quincy St.

We need and deserve courts in good condition.

Most of Quincy Park Courts are now actually dangerous to play on.

Maybe Arl Cty would consider putting a bubble up on 4 of the Bluemont courts for the winter. A bubble could be purchased from Four Seasons Tennis Club which is closing in 2018 - food for thought.

With Four Seasons closing in 2018, Arlington Courts will be in higher demand and we need these courts repaired ASAP. I recently tried to play at Quincy and a partner twisted her ankle on big crack/ hole on the court. Thank you and continue the good work.

Tennis courts are a resource that must be maintained like any other item of infrastructure. Recreational opportunities is one of the things that distinguishes the County. I would hate to see our fall into disrepair.

I agree. And Beyond that I think Arlington should bubble at least 8 courts in Arlington so that we can play in the Winter. The only indoor tennis facility in Arlington is the YMCA and the roof leaks. Arlington can do better than that.

Recently reconstructed courts at Towers and Virginia Highlands are well done, but are extremely crowded, showing the demand for good courts. Without enough courts with safe playing conditions, I've had to find courts to play on outside the Arlington County parks system.

Dear Members of the Arlington County Board, Please take care of our tennis courts. As an ACTA player the past 4 years, Tennis is a vital part of Arlington County Parks and Recreation. Players of all ages enjoy playing tennis on the courts located throughout the county. Tennis is a sport that you can start at an early age and play as an older adult. Having a vital tennis culture is a great asset to any community. Taking care of the tennis courts sends a clear message to the community. We are proud to keep our active lifestyle culture healthy. "If you build it they will come."

I agree that the county should reconstruct (not patch up) dilapidated courts within a year. The tennis community is growing in Arlington and we deserve better courts.

please fix the courts more than just filling the cracks, actually making them last another 10 years or more with the proper re-surfacing
