#five4water
A small survey of festival-enthusiasts revealed an average expenditure of RM75-100 on water alone (and festival tickets are usually RM110-200). In light of the recent deaths at music festivals around the world, we would like to petition organizers to make water sold at the events more affordable. Long hours of crowded masses, sweaty dancing, and alcohol consumption is a real and very common threat to health if not properly hydrated.
Setting the prices low (or free) would go a long way in ensuring the happiness and safety of every individual who participates in these events. Keeping people well hydrated (cheaply) will also put a responsible and caring face on event organizers, and would allay many complaints about how water prices are really set to drive up alcohol sales and event profits.
Would you charge RM10 for a bottle of water at the gym or a sport event? Some may have to save for months to afford the journey to a festival, only to be dismayed at having to pay so much more for something so essential.
