The University has officially confirmed the departure of R.C. Johnson. I appreciate the dedication shown by the hundreds of individuals who advocated for this change in leadership. We will now monitor the administration to ensure the search for a successor remains a transparent process.

If you believe that Shirley Raines should fire R.C. Johnson based on his years of inadequate job performance as it relates to the Memphis Football program, failure to get the program into a BCS conference, and other shortcomings, you can sign this petition. Furthermore, Shirley Raines should immediately begin the search for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and competent Athletic Director who will do what it takes to make football as well as all other sports a priority at the University of Memphis.

There is another online petition with more information that I strongly encourage you to visit located at:

Total waste of potential. Bring someone in who actually wants to win games.

RC needs to pack his stuff and find somewhere else to fail. Memphis deserves better than this.

Been watching this decline for way too long. He clearly doesnt care about the football program and it shows on the field.

Finally someone said it. The program is going nowhere under his leadership. Embarrassing for the alumni.
