UAB football should be as salient as UAB academics and research. Basketball should be at bartow and Andesron level and salience.

Ray Watts made the decision to end the team the day he was hired. It was probably a requirement of his hire. He used a faulty "study" to justify the decision while refusing to discuss the topic with anyone. By the time he made the announcement to the team, it was nothing more then a formality. That is why he was so cold with the team. He figured they would all tuck their tails between their legs and walk away, but they didn't. They are a team and they spoke their mind. “TEAM”, something Watts has no experience with. He was forced into defense mode and proved how little he respected them and what a terrible leader he is. Stevie Wonder could see that!!!

As a resident of Highland Park for 18 years (1986-2004), I am well aware of how much UAB sports means to the area. Watts' handling of this was bordering on obscene, and is a frequent topic of conversation STILL on Clemson sports talk radio. Embarrassing.

If there were ever an opportunity for swift justice, this is it. Put back the programs that were underhandedly removed and put trustworthy people in UAB leadership positions.

Fire this corrupt president, it could not be more obvious he or one of his superiors is doing this out of their own monetary gains in some way shape or form. They are not stupid, they are smart enough to know cancelling this program will ruin the school and the community. Hence, the only explanation is their own personal gain in some way behind closed doors.
