Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences. When people engage in discriminatory behavior, they should not be trusted to oversee the care of a diverse student body. Making derogatory statements about obesity and homosexuality is unacceptable and by defending him, you admit you hold the same views.

This is completely unprofessional! Teachers are supposed to be role models for the kids not bullies. He needs to go.
