I support this effort for all humans who are to be cared for with and dignity and if the facility or care-home fails in the properly doing their job they should be investigated and fined should negligence of care be found.

Agree with the other comments here that those who take care of disabled people must be held accountable for neglect and abuse -- and fired from their jobs as well!

These children and adults should never have to live like this. West Virginia should invest and make changes. We should all be outraged.

My sister lived in a group home in VA for over 20 years. My family was so blessed for her to be in them until she passed this year. I strongly believe there is a special place in hell for anyone hurting these precious people. I miss my sister every day but so thankful for the people that took care of her

Yes, there are good facilities and good caregivers. However, I’ve not experienced this during my short time of trying to work with them. These facilities , and those who allow horrible treatment of a vulnerable population, need to be held accountable for their actions.

Continue to share this post. Ask folks to sign and share their stories. Until the public is outraged at the behavior of poorly managed group homes, waiver homes, and those who allow it to continue (Pat Nisbet, WV BMS), nothing will change. Thank you! ❤️

I hope that justice is served because I believe this happens often but from past experience their are good nursing facilities or at least there were when my parents were being cared for.
