FINE FOR LITTERING

‘River pollution is a very serious issue but is not recognised as being as destructive as it really is’ – AJ McConville, Thames21 worker
The main pollutant of rivers is litter. Litter from the streets is blown by the wind, into rivers like the Thames. Fish are trapped, suffocated, poisoned and can die from the litter.
We are affected too as we digest the fish that have eaten the plastic fragments, which have toxic chemicals. A build-up of this dangerous for our health.
We can stop litter entering the rivers by not littering in the first place.
A fine for littering would significantly reduce the amount of litter on the streets, and so much less would enter rivers.
Sign this petition for a fine for littering.
Help us save the environment and look after our health.
