There are many familes in the New York City Homeless Shelters. Many of whom are mistreated and misled by the laws and duties required to move into permanent housing. (I.e. clients are discharged and threatened with next step for minimal reasons). If you are a homeless client and is unsatisfied with the case management and/or requirements founded by the Department of Homeless Services (DHS), this petition is for you. If you are a client who is compliant with Independent Living Plans (ILP) and still haven't found a living plan out of the shelter system then THIS IS FOR YOU! New York City has removed the vouchers for homeless individuals and families out of the system. Do you believe this system is designed for you to return? THIS IS FOR YOU! Are you making minimum wage and cant afford an apartment's rent per month? THIS IS FOR YOU! Have you applied for low-income housing and been denied because your income is to low? THIS IS FOR YOU! Has your Public Assistance case been closed/slanctioned at Center 37 for unfound reason? THIS IS FOR YOU! Are you deemed uneligible to work by HRA? Are you a parent/adult living in the DHS system, endured the depression and hassles from PATH or your shelter in order to provide a stable and PERMANENT housing for you and/or your children! We deserve justice. We deserve respect. We deserve to be heard. If you believe in change and possiblities out of homelessness then sign this petition. We are HOMELESS not SPEECHLESS!
