When a complaint arises against an FA where no wrong doing was done and found that no wrong doing was done by compliance this complaint should not be shown on the FA's report nor should have been listed in the first place. Any reports with an invalid complaint listed should be taken off.

The rule changes are ridiculous and prevent good advisors from seeking a fair settlement when the firm opts to settle rather than incur expenses

There should be a time limit of when a meritless complaint is removed from an agent/advisors record.

It seems unprofessional to leave meritless complaints on a public record. Some folks just want to create a problem where one does not exist. It seems that FINRA should stand up for those who have been wronged by the customer as well as standing up for wronged customers. The playing field should be level

The process is too expensive, and even though you have it dropped it’s still showing a complaint

To not give the adviser an opportunity to set the record straight, is just un-American! Unbelievable.

I have a couple of very old customer complaints from around 15 years ago that were meritless and went nowhere, yet they still appear on my Broker Check.

This will not be fare, It will promote lying in a complaint. Not reasonable and constructive.

Authorities should NOT only protect clients. Honest advisors need protection too.

Having been the victim of a baseless complaint, I would vehemently suggest there needs to be a way to remove these claims in a inexpensive and expeditious manner. I have been in the industry over 33 years and had only received the one and only claim AFTER changing Firms and being caught without my records and access to my former Firms records. When finding out that it would cost anywhere from $10-$15K to get expunged, I deferred my decision to expunge hoping that a more sensible and less expensive protocol might be adopted. FINRA proposal is a step in the other direction from the sensible approach I was hoping for.

We need a fair system to remove meritless claims

Protecting my practice should not be financial hardship. In my case a personality conflict with my mang. at Ameriprise prompted false claims that FINRA investigated and found without merit. Yet this blemish remains on my CRD report. Not Fair!

I had a disgruntled GA file a complaint after I left his agency. All the facts supported my innocence but to no avail given FINRA's lack of support of the adviser. NOW THIS? Way to go FINRA!

I have two meritless claims on my U4. I would like to see them removed by a legitimate process.

I do not my ability of due process taken away by an arbitrary rule. This flys in the face of due process!

My FINRA BrokerCheck public record shows an ancient complaint that was withdrawn by the client almost immediately, as well as a complaint by an associate's client which did not involve me. This creates a false and negative impression, and I should be allowed to correct the record.

I have a meritless complaint from 14 years ago. Guilty even when proven innocent is a terrible system.
