I'll never donate to the University again if you fire this man. I will also encourage friends to do the same. He's much more valuable to the university than any disengaged administrative person who wants to fire him, and it's not even close.

John is a great professor who truly cares about his students. He taught me the art of rewriting in his English 425 class. John makes an incredibly valuable, positive impact on the University of Michigan campus.

John Rubadeau is one of the best gifts the University of Michigan has ever received.

Best and most formative professor I’ve ever had. Probably the biggest reason I got into medical school and am living my dream.

I was a student in Professor Rubaeau's Essay class, and I learned a lot from him about English and about how to be a compassionate, sensible adult. I still count him as a valued confidante now, thirteen years later. Professor Rubeau is a U-Mich. treasure, and I find it appalling that he was not given a fair hearing from a neutral party on this matter. Where is the Go Blue loyalty to it's long-term faculty to give them a fair opportunity to state their case? In haste to save face, The University of Michigan is shaming it's own history as an intelligent academic institution, and I'm in part shamed as an alumna.

John was the best professor I had while at the University of Michigan. His lasting impact is how he teaches his students about life and finding the path that best suits them.

John gave me more education in my one semester class with him than in my 3.5 other years combined.

John has been my most influential teacher at Michigan. Not letting him teach is a disservice to the University

Professor Rubadeau was the more influential instructor during my time at Michigan. No one cares more for his students.

Everyone deserves to have a professor and de facto life coach like John Rubadeau. His impact transcends improving students' grammar - he teaches us how to live. I fully support this petition.

John has the right to defend himself against these accusations before his contract is terminated prematurely. He has had a positive influence on thousands of students, many of whom needed the unique support he was able to provide.

John's class was perhaps the most memorable and useful class from my five years in undergrad. His encouragement led me not only to write honestly, but live honestly. It would be such a shame to see him go, knowing that teaching is his passion.

I was a non-traditional student in John's "untraditional" class. It was a great fit. John taught us not only to open up in our writing and to one another, but also sharpened our focus on creating our own life paths. To be terminated without benefits after 33 years of diligent, dedicated, inspired, and passionate teaching is gravely unjust. I object to this wholeheartedly!
