As from Friday 12th March 2010 mothers are no longer allowed the choice to have their babies at home! In other words no planned home births are being permitted. The NHS say the reason for this is the lack of staff and funding they currently have for the maternity services.
So please join this petition and help fight to give mothers the right to choice their place of birth!!!!!!

I have been hearing from so many mothers who feel completely blindsided by this news and honestly it keeps me up at night knowing how many people want that choice back. I am trying to get in touch with the local health board to demand answers about why they think taking away our options is a real solution to staffing problems.

My wife had our daughter at home and it was the best experience. Ridiculous to take that option away from people.
Birth is not a medical emergency by default. Stop treating us like we dont know what we want for our own bodies.
the hospital isnt the right place for everyone. they need to find the staff and fix this immediately.
ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. bring home births back to east sussex now!!!!
Just another budget cut hurting local families. Very sad.
