One of my dogs has miraculous management of his health condition due to minimally processed food. The prescription pill option would weaken his immune system and leave him susceptible to more infection. No medical cure. My vet said she was amazed at how much he had improved by changing his diet to a minimally processed, wet food diet. Owners and veterinarians should have the option to pursue whatever diet they want for their companion, or in our case, need. Without this good option my dog's life would be cut short by years and his quality of life would be significantly less as well. Just because it may not be a good option for SOME dogs doesn't mean it shouldn't be available for those who would benefit from it. Nutrition and holistic care can have tremendous health benefits and cures, but FDA doesn't want that because less illness and less expensive/more readily available natural cures means less money for big pharma. I've fed my dogs raw for 20 years ! They are extremely healthy and long lived. I am well educated on the subject of raw feeding and should not have someone that is biased due to money, make my decisions for me. The "REAL " science is there to back us up if you would look at it with an open mind !!!

This is OUR pets and we deserve the right to feed them what’s healthiest and most species appropriate. This is government overreach!

After thousands of dollars of tests and treatments for my cat with IBD, I was told no other option but to euthanize. Today she is 22 years old and thriving on a raw food diet. Don’t condemn her and others like her to death. Wild felids and canids do not cook their food. Why should domestication change that?
