Processed food is as bad for dogs and cats as it is for people. We reserve the right to feed our pets what we want.

It is absolutely ridiculous that government feels the need to be involved in a decision on what we feed our dogs. We've seen how government involvement has impacted the health of humans. We have more chronic disease and obesity than ever before. Government needs to stay out of food decisions - both for humans and for dogs.

Regulators ought to stop over regulating...they are taking our freedoms away. It is my right to feed my girls the food I choose and know is good for them.

Raw food has given my dog a new life. She's lost a ton of weight and is so much more energetic than she was when she was eating dry dog food.

I have always fed my dogs a raw diet. I breed and raised puppies on raw meat, veggies and fruit. All my dogs lived to 13-20 years. Dry food kills your dog quicker.

Big business/traditional vets and government agencies not only have no idea how to keep my pet healthy, but one has a vested interest in animals being sick and the other has no business trying to regulate healthy options for people or pets. None whatsoever.

Save raw food for dogs - they are created to cope with minimally processed raw meat. Duh!!!

Dogs are like wild animals. They do not thrive on French fries and processed food or they will get fat like the big pet food companies.

I am so sick and tired of others (regulators) making decisions for everyone else, and who only go by their one-sided information that will only benefit them. If it weren't for a raw food diet, my dog would never have survived. I'm fine with "regulators" making sure that the food is safe and meets all the dietary and safety regulations, but other than that, stop taking away OUR CHOICES for what we feed our dogs. If we want to spend the money for raw, organic, non-GMO, grass fed, free range, whatever, we should have that right. All of us are not ok with chemicals and GMO-laden "food." Dogs are mammals too, and like us, react with cancer and other diseases just like us due to bad food choices.

Raw and minimally processed pet foods are valuable options for pet owners and provide significant nutritional benefits for pets. This is not a NEW or unproven concept. It is unacceptable to impose arbitrary regulations on companies pioneering BETTER products using safe and established standards for production. Simply because those products fall into a "developing" category. Governing offices should be obligated to keep up with the science of modern pet nutrition and industry. NOT hold small business back for being innovative and forward thinking.

My dog's life depends on eating a raw diet. Without it, he would not have made it to where he is today. If they take away foods that are OUR RIGHT to feed, they will put many well-cared for pets livelihoods at risk.

I’m well aware of what power and money can do in the world we live in today. However it blows my mind that we are in 2019 and the government wants to move us backwards!!! We are already behind Canada “healthcare” behind Europe “cars technology” for example.
But dog’s food should NOT be one of the things we are behind in!!! Specially when it benefits dog’s health and life.
this is the way I see it.
