Get over it. No time for fragility. Even without the pandemic housing in NYC is absurd with rent pricing. Upper west side folks need to buckle down and start supporting.

I wholeheartedly support addressing the homeless problem in New York City but think all neighborhoods should share the burden equally

Stop the violence. We need to make nyc safe again! These violent acts cannot be tolerated. Something must be done now! Save our city.

We may have to pitch in and hire our own private security force unfortunately. It almost seems like the UWS is being punished.

I have made this neighborhood my home over the years but even in 5 years the transformation has been nothing short of alarming. Having grown up in Arab cities my whole life, I am increasingly finding it difficult to distinguish this neighborhoods from those I knew growing up, and spent my entire life working hard to get away from to build a new life elsewhere. Thanks.

I've never felt unsafe in the neighborhood or questioned going out past dark to walk my dog....until now. The lack of transparency and giving no say or notice to residents who pay taxes here and for such programs is really unacceptable and unfortunate.

I agree that this is horrible for the community.

Within a few days the 79th Street area has changed for the worst. Residents of Lucern are hanging out on benches, smoking, smelling of urine and yelling obscenities.

Our do-nothing mayor has the time to paint graffiti on the street, march with protestors and go to the gym, but does nothing for the taxpayers who pay him a salary. Our streets are filthy, our neighborhoods are developing into a crime ridden oasis for junkies, law breakers and the homeless. Think before you "pull the lever" when you vote. Stop electing the same party you've been putting in for years. At this point "what have you got to lose?"

It is appalling that deals such as this are made without consultation with or input of the residents who live in the area. This impacts the safety and quality of life of all the families who live here.

My children are afraid to walk around alone. During the school year in the fall I had to witness a man peeing (pants fully down). This happened at 7:00am while I was walking my daughter to the bus stop on 79th/Broadway. You could see everything.
