We demand safe and clean streets on the Upper West Side

Helen Rosenthal should be ashamed of what she is doing to the upper west side community. She is putting people’s safety at risk every single day

I've seen people drinking, smoking marijuana, shooting heroin, fighting, and masturbating in public on Broadway. I live within 2 blocks of the Belleclaire and don't feel safe walking around at night anymore.

I have lived on the UWS for over 30yrs this is the first time I have not felt safe. In addition the filth on the streets since the the men moved into the Lucerne terrible.

New "residents" engage in public drinking and throw liquor bottles in the street. Also much more panhandling in the neighborhood.

Where do you all suggest to move them to? I am afraid temporary means forever unless there is a viable and ready solution in a neighborhood that will accept new neighbors.. Seems like a catch 22..

I have seen a person urinating on the street across the street from the Lucerne. He was exposed while I walked by with my 7 year old son.

I don't know what to say other than it seems many people and orgs, whether on purpose or inadvertently are doing their very best to ensure NYC a very slow and uncertain recovery.

Why don't we ever learn from the past? Anytime bleeding heart, virtue-signaling liberals run this city, chaos ensues. Until a Giuliani or Bloomberg comes along and cleans up the mess.

I was robbed of a laptop at 11:30 am on a Sunday morning at 69th and Broadway. I do not feel safe in the city after 37 years here.

I fully back this petition. I too have witness as well been harassed by homeless women and men who sleep on the side walks right outside of my apartment which we just purchased. Very disappointed with how things are being handled.

It is time to make UWS great again!

I’ve learned parents can’t send kids to school because they are scared to let them walk alone. There isn’t a night by 77th -81st on Broadway and Amaterdam where I feel like I’m living in San Fran with very aggressive homeless people.
