POTS is so difficult. I hope that CHOP continues to support the POTS program there.

Oh Emma, so sorry you have to go through this as a family. MomMom forwarded this on to me and I’m so thankful she did. Praying this will make a difference. Love you Emma Sue!

I see Dr. B for my POTS. His diagnosis changed my life for the better. I would not be in school, extracurricular activities, or even functional without him. After 8 months of testing, stress, and doctors telling my parents I was faking everything he diagnosed me in 5 minutes. Please do not put a child through a life of undiagnosed medical problems by restricting POTS patients access to care. Keep POTS in CHOP.

Praying that this most important help is NOT cut! These kids need hope and how can anyone take that away?

This was beautifully written, without Doctor Boris and his team of POTS experts I would never have gotten diagnosed and would have never known why every time I stood up my heart went up to 180, and why I didn’t look sick but I felt awful all the time. There are so many other conditions that go along with POTS, Ehler’s Danlo’s, Gastroparesis, and others... so without proper treatment of POTS those other conditions will worsen. CHOP has helped me so much but only because they are easy to reach, they’re right across the bridge.

I am currently a married women with my first child on her way. But when I was younger I was a CHOP patient. I had years of battling sickness. I would go back and forth within CHOP from doctor to doctor and specialty to specialty. I ended up in the hands of Dr. Sherry, who admitted me for a month of intense inpatient therapy. It didn’t work. Turns out he was wrong like I knew and I have Lupus. Currently I am off my meds for lupus due to my pregnancy and it’s been hard. Just like it will be for Jackson and his family if you cut the POTS program. Finding out a few years ago I have Lupus was such a blessing because to me it was validation I wasn’t crazy and I no longer had to convince others it was a struggle to do normal daily activities even when I “looked so healthy”. The thought of my adult rheumatologist being taken away from me is beyond stressful. She is the only one who believed me and has helped me. I imagine Jackson and his entire family feels the same way. You have a good thing going with the POTS program and CHOP. Please don’t take it away from hundreds of families who have finally found their hope and validation within the program. I pray for all these children that may be thrown back in the shuffle. Look through their charts. Hear their stories. See their suffering. Please don’t cut their program. May God guide your decision. God bless.

Please keep Dr Boris and the POTS Dept open at CHOPS! These children need his expertise. Don’t close this department.

Everyone, especially children, have the right to live as good a life as possible! If doctors are necessary for that good quality of life, let them have their doctors!!!!

Dr Boris has helped my grandson who has POTS and has helped him have some sort of quality of life. Don't take that life line away. Childrens life must have more value than money!
