This is a nationwide epidemic that cannot be ignored. It affects all races, ages, sexes, incomes. Heroin does not discriminate. We have to wake up and address this immediately!

There are too many young lives being taken over this horrible drug. I've watch my kids get ready to go to a lot of their friends and classmates funeral over the last three months this is breaking my heart.

Our prayers go out to the Nelsons. Trever was so special; ad what a great angel he will make. This is a heartbreaking battle to see fought.

I think that this is an important step in the right direction for the war on drugs.

My friend lost her 21 year old brother in November. My family lost my sister's only child a year ago. He was the first grandchild in my family and the only child either of my sisters had. Still can't believe he's gone. It's truly and epidemic. So sorry we all have to endure this pain.

Not only should all law enforcement carry it should be avail at the pharmacy without a prescription. Many states are adopting this policy and NC should follow suit. This is such a horrible drug that is taking so many young lives.

This is heartbreaking. I'm so sorry you lost your brother Brett, and I'm very sorry you lost your son. I too have endured a similar, and very difficult loss. The father of my beautiful daughter passed away last year in September, only a day before what would have been our anniversary date, due to a heroin overdose. The cops did not have this antidote on them when they arrived, and when resuscitation doesn't work, what else is there to do to save ones life? This is the ONLY option we have left! Herion has completely demolished my life, my daughter's life, his brothers lives, his parents lives, and everyone else who was lucky enough to have contact with him, and none of us ever stuck a needle in our arms. But this drug takes much more than just a soul away..it takes away the sanity in others wherever it strikes. He was an amazing man and I will never forgive heroin because now my daughter has to grow up wondering why she hears about her daddy all the time but never sees him. I think it's amazing what you guys are doing and everything you're fighting for. This is only the beginning, but hopefully we can unite as a heroin free state before it's too late.
