Trevor was a good friend. He and another good friend of mine have passed on because of this monster within a couple days of each other. I will do whatever I can to help stop this epidemic that has got a hold on so many. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

As a medical responder, I definitely agree with police officers carrying Narcon. There are too many young lives being lost to this and similar addictions.

Let's spread this to include fireman too, who also respond to all types of emergencies. My husband and I grieve for this fine young man, who we have known since he was in elementary school, and taught in Sunday School. Addiction is a sickness and someone out there is killing our children! Let's all pray for this family and our community.

Special thanks to Brett Nelson, brother of Trevor Nelson, for initiating this post. It was completely his idea and he is owning it! He wrote the description and encouraging as many as he can to share publicly to try to reach 100,000 "signatures", the minimum needed to have this enacted into law. Without approval as law, funds will not be allocated to police and other stations to purchase the Narcan kits. Narcan has saved many, many lives here in Wake and Durham Counties as well as all other counties; however, funds are allocated to other programs since it is not an official law. We don't want our police and other authorities having to make choices on whether to spend discretionary funds on other areas when heroin addition deaths have increased over 500% in the past 3 years. Thank you Brett for taking the lead on this; your brother would be so proud and I am sure is smiling down on you right now. I love you, Mom

My heart goes out to your family. Praying for healing. 6 1/2 yrs ago my older brother who struggled with drug addiction died at 42 yrs old from heart failure caused from the years of abuse. Life will go on and days will be bad, but some days will good, some days you will remember how he did this or that, and it will inspire you, strengthen you, and you think well maybe I can do some kind of good out of something so bad. This is that good and many will thank you, like I thank you now.
