A factory farm is a huge industry that raises animals for food. 99% of animals are raised here, and all the factory farms try to accomplish is getting more money and efficiency while the animals, humans, and the environment have to suffer. Factory farms try to do whatever they can to make animals grow faster, this means using unnatural lighting, unnatural growth, non-therapeutic medicating, and unnatural reproduction. They also have horrible conditions for their animals such as unclean air, no veterinary care,surgical mutilations, shortened lives, and the females are pregnant for most of their lives. Waste from the factory pollutes our water, and air, and fossil fuels are used which is known to be the main cause of global warming. Some meat from these factories, that are consumed by humans, contain salmonella, e. coli, and many different types of bacteria. Animals are fed antibiotics, but this is even worse as some bacteria is drug-resistant and may spread amongst humans. To sum it all up, factory farming is an unnatural way to make animals grow faster, it hurts the animals, us humans, and the environment.
