German is a leading world language, spoken by millions. There are many German speakers in Portland alone. Despite the fact that German is not yet offered at Franklin many students have expressed a great interest in taking a German Class. A German club has already been started at FHS which focuses on learning about Germanic culture. Having a German class at FHS would not only benefit the students taking the class, but would also benefit the Franklin community as a whole.
