The council just confirmed that the bus escorts are staying on the routes to keep our children safe. This win belongs to every one of you who signed and stood firm against the cuts. Keep an eye on our inbox for any future policy changes so we can act fast …
This petition has been created to support the continuation of Passenger Escorts on the Ferncumbe Primary School Bus. Ferncumbe School is in Hatton, Warwick and and children aged between 4 and 11 from 60 families, travel on two buses each day to and from school. Warwickshire County Council have decided that Escorts are not deemed necessary and will be removing them from October 2011 half-term. Parents have serious safety concerns about allowing such young children to travel unsupervised. The route to school is dangerous with nowhere to safely stop in an emergency. The school is situated on a winding lane with very limited parking. Parking problems are only alleviated now by the provision of the buses. This is our last chance to try to influence Warwickshire Council to continue to provide supervision. Please support this petition. Thank you.
I am currently compiling our safety concerns into a formal report to submit directly to the Warwickshire County Council leadership. Please call your local councillor this morning to demand they keep the bus escorts on the route. We need to keep pressure on the council until they agree to meet with our parent group.

We reached a major turning point in our fight to keep bus escorts on the road. Now is the time to leverage this momentum by emailing your local county council representative directly to demand a meeting. Tell them clearly that our children's safety on these dangerous routes is not up for negotiation.

My son is only 5 and there is no way I feel safe with him on that bus without an adult there to watch them. The road is way too narrow for cars as it is.

DO NOT remove them. If these buses stop running the parking at school will become pure chaos. Bad idea all around.

Leaving 4 year olds unsupervised on a bus is just asking for trouble. Get it sorted

These are small children!! Cutting costs on safety is just shameful. Who is going to help if someone chokes or gets scared?

Ridiculous decision. Have they even been on this route? Its a nightmare for drivers let alone a bus full of kids.
