The Fergus McCann Stand

We the undersigned would urge the board of Celtic Football Club to rename the North Stand at Celtic Park in honour of Fergus McCann. Fergus with help from the support brought Celtic FC back from the brink of closure. Not only that but he had the vision to give us the best football stadium in Scotland and built in a business plan which has propelled Celtic on to becoming Scotland’s biggest football club. As we Celtic fans look across the city we now see that Fergus’s shrewd fiscal plan of self reliance and prudent financial management has saved our club from ever being run by bankers. It’s true that sometimes this can be frustrating for the support but when you see the alternative across the city we should be thankful for the stability Fergus brought to our club. We feel it is only fair that Fergus should be rewarded by naming the magnificent North stand in his honour.
